Chamber Leadership

The Jackson Area Chamber Of Commerce has been a leader in the Jackson business area since it was formed on July 3, 1911, and has enjoyed great success in the last decade.

The executive director of the Jackson Area Chamber Of Commerce is Randy Heath, serving in that capacity since February 12, 1996, taking the job as a part-time position and working to where it is today a full-time position. One of Heath's greatest honors came in July 2005 when he was named the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ohio "Professional of the Year".

Heath is a native of Jackson, living in Jackson practically his entire life. He worked for 25 years in the journalism field as an assistant editor and sports editor, winning several major awards and becoming the youngest person ever and the first ever from a non-daily newspaper to be inducted into the Ohio Prep Sportswriter Hall Of Fame.

He still is a sports broadcaster for the local radio station and does the public address announcing for the Jackson home football and basketball games as well as announcing parades and other events during the year.

Heath is a graduate of the University Of Rio Grande with a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Mathematics, served on the Jackson City Council and is currently the Mayor of Jackson. He also served as secretary of the 29-county Ohio's Appalachian Country Tourism Organization, secretary for the seven-county U. S. 35 Corridor Committee, was the 2004 president of the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association, and is a member of the board of directors of the Chamber Of Commerce Executives Of Ohio.

He is on the board of directors of the Jackson Rotary Club and was President in 2006. Heath is a former Jackson City Recreation Director and served as a volunteer coach in over 500 youth games involving youth baseball, softball and basketball teams.

The executive secretary of the chamber of commerce is Pam Wilson, who assumed her duties on September 9, 2003. Pam is a graduate of Jackson High School and has proven to be a tremendous asset to the chamber effort. She works part-time in her position with the chamber of commerce and also works part-time with the Telegram newspaper. She has also taken great interest in community affairs over the years.
